Should I take my dog to the vet?
I came home to find that my German Shepard had chewed open a bottle of children’s daily vitamins and eaten the entire contents. I don’t know how many were in there. It is enough of a health concern that I should drive the dog to the vet and get her checked, or do you think she’ll be okay? Thanks.
I did call the vet and they said she would be fine and there was no need to bring her in unless she began to act ill. I thank you all for your advice, but I am also glad I didn’t rush her to the vet unecessarily.
She should probably vomit them up if it was within the last 4 hours she should still have some in her stomach.
Call an emergency vet- that’s a new one for me, but I know at the very least an OD of calcium is bad. I don’t know about other vitamins in the mix. She really should be seen by a vet. A phone call to ask is free. Tell them your dog’s weight and how many she ate.
